The Zen Frog
A wise Zen frog was explaining to the younger frogs the balance of nature:
“Do you see how that fly eats a gnat? And now with a bite, I eat the fly. It is all part of the great scheme of things.”
“Isn’t it bad to kill in order to live?” asked the young frog.
“It depends . . .” answered the Zen frog just as a snake swallowed it in one chomp before it finished its sentence.
“Depends on what?” shouted the student.
“Depends on whether you’re looking at things from the inside or outside,” came the muffled response from inside the snake.
The Zen Frog is a coffee shop, created to foster community. It’s a place where people can come sit for a while and visit, or sit alone and work, study, read, or just have a coffee and a snack. The atmosphere is meant to be quietly peaceful, but we welcome voices and conversation anytime. We carry a small amount of merchandise, in an effort to offer products with the qualities of our Zen-like space. Come by and see what we’re like on the inside and if you like, share with others on the outside so they can stop by and experience The Zen Frog for themselves.
How We Brew
Along with pulling traditional espresso shots from an espresso machine, we brew coffee on a Ground Control® machine. What makes Ground Control® different is its unique process. Ground Control® runs the coffee grounds through a series of mini-brews, which are then blended together to form the final beverage. It batch brews filter coffee, espresso, and cold brew concentrate all on one machine with different settings dialed in.
Nitro Cold Brew on Brood
Our BROOD commercial nitro machine chills drinks down to a crisp 2 °C, infusing every cup with nitrogen pulled directly from the air. Coupled with our cold brew made on our Ground Control machine, this may be the creamiest, sweetest nitro coffee you’ve never tasted before. We also pull our iced coffee from this machine. It does both!
Our Goods
We not only serve great coffee, nitro, and pastries, we also sell merchandise. This section of the shop is curated to add to the feeling we're trying to create here at The Zen Frog. We sell items that are calming, balancing, soothing, cleansing, encourage breathing and growth, and are sources of light and nourishment. It's a small selection, but definitely a fun addition to our space.
